How to create, edit and delete News articles

This article explains, step by step, how to create, edit and delete News articles in TRAK.

Please note: Creating and editing the News articles in the News editor are exclusive to Legacy Content Administrators. If you wish to obtain this permission, kindly communicate with your User Administrator. 

*TRAK is currently in the process of transitioning the editors for Product Hub and News to the latest design. During this transition period, the Product Hub and News sections will remain editable in the Legacy Editor section.

How to find the News article editor

To find the News article editor, select "Legacy Editors" on the left hand navigation bar then select the "News" tab.

How to create a new News article

Scroll down to the bottom of the News article Legacy Editor and click "Add new". A new article card will appear titled "Unnamed". Click "View Details" to add information.

If clicking on "View Details" yields no response, consider scrolling to the top of the page. In cases where numerous News articles are listed, the edit options may not be immediately visible upon initial viewing.

Remember to scroll back to the top to click the button "Save all changes".

How to edit a News article

Navigate to the article you wish to edit and click on "View Details" at the bottom of the card to edit.

If clicking on "View Details" yields no obvious change to the page, consider scrolling to the top of the page. In cases where numerous News articles are listed, the edit options may not be immediately visible upon initial viewing.

The following options will be available to update:

  • Date Published - the date will appear on the News card as well as on the article. This will be used by TRAK to identify the most recent News article to surface on the dashboard.
  • Title - this is the title of the news article.
  • Tagline - the tagline is the text shown on the news card on the News page or dashboard.

  • BuScreenshot 2023-10-18 at 1.17.27 pmtton (optional) - click "Add" to add a button. The button will appear at the bottom of the article. The colour of the button will match the primary colour as set in site settings.

  • Image - click "Add" to add a hero banner image which will be shown at top of the news article. Dimensions should be ~960 x ~360 pixels.
  • Thumbnail image - click "Add" to add the thumbnail image. This will appear as the thumbnail image for the news card on the News page as well as on the News card on the dashboard.
  • Tags - add tags to automatically be pick up by any Products with the same tag. Just ensure that the tag is exactly the same in the Product.

How to delete a News article

Navigate to the product you wish to delete and click "View Details". If clicking on "View Details" yields no response or change on the page, consider scrolling to the top of the page to see the editor then scroll to the bottom of the edit section and click "Delete item" button.
