How to create, edit or delete a product in the Product Hub

This article explains, step by step, how to create, edit and delete Products in the Product Hub in TRAK.

Please note: Creating and editing Products in the Product Hub are exclusive to Legacy Content Administrators. If you wish to obtain this permission, kindly communicate with your User Administrator. 

*TRAK is currently in the process of transitioning the editors for Product Hub and News to the latest design. During this transition period, the Product Hub and News sections will remain editable in the Legacy Editor section.

To find the Product Hub editor, select "Legacy Editors" on the left hand navigation bar then select the "Product" tab.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Product Legacy Editor and click "Add new". A new Product card will appear titled "Unnamed". Click "View Details" to add information.

If clicking on "View Details" yields no response, consider scrolling to the top of the page. In cases where numerous products are listed, the edit options may not be immediately visible upon initial viewing.


Remember to scroll back to the top to click the button "Save all changes".

How to edit a product

Navigate to the product you wish to edit and click on "View Details" at the bottom of the card to edit.

If clicking on "View Details" yields no obvious change to the page, consider scrolling to the top of the page. In cases where numerous products are listed, the edit options may not be immediately visible upon initial viewing.

The following options will be available to update:

  • Name - this is the name of the product which will appear in the Product Hub.
  • Model Name
  • Series Code
  • Current (Checkbox) - if checked, the product will appear in the Current products section. If unchecked, the product will appear in the Past products section.
  • Introduction text - this is the introduction text which will appear under the "About" tab on the product page. You can embed videos here.
  • Hero Image - select "Add" to add a Hero image. Dimension should be ~960 x ~360 pixels and add a caption.
  • Thumbnail Image - select "Add" to add a thumbnail image which will appear on the front page of the Product Hub. Dimension should be ~500 x ~300 pixels.
  • Logo Image -  select "Add" to add a logo image. The logo dimensions should be no more than 30 pixels high.
  • Accessories URL - drag a file or add a URL for the accessories which will appear as a quick link on the product page
  • Press Kit URL - drag a file or add a URL for the Press Kit which will appear as a quick link on the product page.
  • Website URL - provide a URL for the web page to the Product which will appear as a quick link on the product page.
  • Owners Manuals - click "Add owners manual" to attach the file which will appear in the "Resources" tab on the Product page under the heading "Owner's Manuals". You can add as many links as you like.
  • Brochures - click "Add brochure" to attach the file which will appear in the "Resources" tab on the Product page under the heading "Brochure". You can add as many links as you like
  • Links - this is where you can link off to multiple additional resources. Click "Add link" and input the URL and the label name for the URL. You can add as many links as you like here which will appear in the "Resources" tab on the Product page under the heading "Other Links".
  • Product Resources - Click "Add product resources" and attach a file with the label name. You can add as many product resources as you like here which will appear in the "Resources" tab on the Product page under the heading "Product Bulletins".
  • Technical Resources -  Click "Add technical resources" and attach a file with the label name. You can add as many technical resources as you like here which will appear in the "Resources" tab on the Product page under the heading "Technical Resources".
  • Competitors - populate the Competitors section will require the Name of the competitor vehicle, a link to the product page as well as the thumbnail image. You can add as many competitors as you like.

  • Key Features - populate the Key Features section with a Name of the key feature, description, image to be used as the thumbnail, benefits and disclaimer. The image and the name will appear on the product page. A Learner can click on the image to view the description, benefits and disclaimer. Videos can be embedded here for additional information.

  • Segments - include the segment name to have it displayed in the dropdown menu on the Product Hub page. You can either create a new segment or use an existing term for an already existing segment. Do not leave the segment section blank.

  • News Tags - add tags to automatically pick up any news articles with the same tag. Just ensure that the tag is exactly the same in the News article. How to create and edit News articles.
  • Learning Search Tags - add tags to automatically pick up any Learning Resource with the same tag. Just ensure that the tag is exactly the same in the tag section in the Learning Resource.

Once you're done editing, remember to scroll to the top of the page and select "Save all changes".

It's important to note that two individuals cannot simultaneously edit the same product. The first person who clicks "publish" will overwrite any changes made by the other person.

How to delete a product

Navigate to the product you wish to delete and click "View Details". If clicking on "View Details" yields no response or change on the page, consider scrolling to the top of the page to see the editor then scroll to the bottom of the edit section and click "Delete item" button.
